Hingham MA Homes For Sale

Hingham MA - a highly coveted South Shore Community.

Hingham is a larger South Shore community when compared to its neighbors of Norwell and Cohasset.  With a population of somewhere near 20,000 people, Hingham offers more socioeconomic diversity than some of its peers.  And this is just one of the many reasons why people desire to live in Hingham.

Hingham is known for having a wide range of housing stock from which to choose from.  In and around Hingham Square one will find more traditional housing choices. Many of Hingham’s most desired antique homes can be found around the square and heading up towards Main Street. These follow along Route 228 the main road through town.  While antique homes are not for everybody, one can find spectacular waterfront homes in Hingham’s Crow Point.  Crow Point in another period was a resort for much of the area, and what was not was a beach community.  Over time, Crow Point has become a highly desired waterfront part of Hingham. You will find Hingham Yacht Club in this part of town.

If you would like newer construction, these can be found in the trendy free standing condos in the exclusive Black Rock gated golf community.  Legend has it that a famous local NFL head coach resides there.  Other areas of new construction can be found in Kress Farm or Baker Hill.

If you like to shop, then Hingham is your place.  Hingham hosts the Derby Street Shops with has some of the best big name stores and eateries available. If you wish to shop in a more quaint environment, then try Hingham Square.  The local merchants in Hingham Square go out of their way to offer unique small town shopping experience that must be seen to appreciate.

Dining in Hingham will leave you with a robust set of dining choices. From the white tablecloth dining of the Square Cafe to the pub feel of The Snug you will find some fine choices in Hingham Square.

And let’s  not forget to talk about the commute to Boston.  This is one reason why so many people choose to live in Hingham.  Access to downtown Boston is quick from either the MBTA’s Commuter Boat or Commuter Rail. Either way, door to door should not take you more than 45 minutes.
