5 Things to do in Cohasset this week 3.25.17

Cohasset remains far from a dull and uninteresting place to reside with little or nothing to do.  As usual Cohasset remains a place where one can be out either on the social circuit, the political circuit, or even both. So, with that said, here are my 5 things to do in Cohasset this week.

The CEF Gala on April 9th – Get Your Tickets Now!

The Cohasset Education Foundation is hosting it’s annual spring gala on April 9th at The Cohasset Golf Club. The Cohasset Education Foundation (The CEF) is a non-profit, tax-exempt community-based organization whose mission is to ensure that Cohasset students, teachers and administrators have access to the programs, materials and up-to-date equipment necessary to maintain a level of academic excellence in today’s competitive environment.

This year the CEF is working on a major capital campaign to transition The Cohasset Middle High School into a 21st Century Learning Commons.  Get your tickets today and join your friends and neighbors for a fun night out!  The sit down dinner will be followed by a live auction and dancing.  Since this is always a good time, and for a good cause, be sure to get your tickets!

Do your gift shopping at Buttonwood Books & Toys.

This year the very kind and generous folks at Buttonwood’s are offering to donate a portion of each sale that they make on Friday April 9th through Sunday April 11th to The Cohasset Education Foundation.  This is the rare opportunity to catch up, or stock up, on your gifts while supporting a great local charity that helps us all via supporting our schools.  The never ending support that the people at Buttonwood offer the CEF makes this one of my favorite 5 things to do in Cohasset this week!

The Annual Osgood vs. Deerhill Faculty Basketball Game

The Annual Osgood vs. Deer Hill Basketball Showdown is a community fundraiser organized by The Cohasset Parent School Organization (The PSO).  The PSO hosts this fun game where the faculty and parents of students from each school square off for local bragging rights.  The proceeds from this year’s game will go to offset the costs of the new play experience at the Osgood School.  The “official” game day tee shirt is also on sale and looks to be like an instant must have classic Cohasset t-shirt.  Order yours today!

Get up to speed on the proposed amendments to the zoning by-laws.

Workstation is hosting The Citizens for Cohasset’s Future that they host a talk the who, the what, and the why it now makes some sense to review and possibly amend some of our zoning by-laws. The group Citizens for Cohasset’s Future who have submitted three proposed bylaws for the warrant at Cohasset’s Town Meeting on May 1 is having a Meet & Greet on April 12 at 7pm at Work Station – Cohasset to discuss issues of managed development, clear cutting and an updated large home review process. Please come to learn the importance of these laws. Many zoning laws have not been update since 1957. RSVP citizensforcohasset@gmail.com.

Local Vines & Gourmet is Having A Sale

Who doesn’t love a sale?  And it is better when it is on wine.  And even better when you support a local business.  #shoplocal

And so there you have it. This is my list of 5 things to do in Cohasset this week. Get out and enjoy your town!
