Anybody who knows me knows that I like to cook. I am not afraid of the kitchen, nor am I afraid of trying something new. My children have been the test kitchen for some really great meals, and some that we will categorize as not so notable.  By now you have all seen my Facebook Group, called What To Cook Today. In this group, I share my favorite things I have made or would like to make in the near future. Sharing a good recipe with me is akin to sharing a good meal.

Why not make a cookbook that celebrates all things Cohasset? Frankly, I think the idea is genius.  An idea that gets people to share their passion, and benefits the community? This is the proverbial win-win scenario.

So I asked a few questions:

Who is the group behind One Table:

We are a community group of your Cohasset neighbors looking to create a new community cookbook that will inspire you to be creative in the kitchen and share the fruits of your labor with family and friends. Whether you love to cook or eat, pickle or bake, or just like the idea of participating in a community project, we’d love to hear from you!

Why a community cookbook?

Where we get our food, what we choose to cook, and who we share it with go a long way toward defining who we are as a community.  In Cohasset, that may mean a family whose roots go back hundreds of years in the town or someone who moved here just last week. It could be seniors or teens, busy parents looking for an easy to prepare a meal or gourmet chefs. We are everybody and everything in between.

How can you get involved?

Cohasset is a special town, and not just because of our beautiful shoreline and open space.  The community hums with creative talent and skill. While our creativity extends in infinite directions, one of the most nurturing and joyful expressions can be in the food we cook for our families, friends, and community. Whether we have a recipe handed down over generations or a brilliant new approach to dinner ready-in-minutes, we all have something to add to the collective stockpot. This is where you come in!  We are seeking your favorite family recipes, replete with traditions from past and present day, from all regions of the US, and beyond.

Through the summer of 2021, we are collecting recipes from you with the goal of having a published book ready for Holiday 2021. We are looking for everything from Cohasset cocktails to appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, and desserts –– with a good balance of entries that are vegetarian, pescatarian, kid-friendly and offer a varied level of complexity.

Whether you’re a seasoned chef or an energetic novice, we’d love for you to submit your recipe!

This is our community cookbook. Please consider joining our email list so that we can send you updates on the project, as well as share some of the recipes as they are submitted.
