Here is a shortlist of December Holiday Events for 2021. The holidays are a time when the South Shore shows one of its best sides. While everyone thinks the summer vistas in and around the South Shore and its beaches are the best viewing of the South Shore. But if you factor in the Norman Rockwell style of holiday decoration, the South Shore rivals nobody. Take your time to drive down Route 228 (a.k.a. 228) in Hingham in the evening hours. See how well decorated the front doors are done up for the holidays. The lighting in the windows. Take a stroll through Cohasset Village and see it all qued up for the holidays. Cohasset even has Santa arrive by lobster boat.
So, without further delay, here are some of my top ideas to help you ring in the holiday season:
Santa & Mrs. Claus will be arriving by boat at the dock next to the Old Salt House. The boat is expected to arrive at the dock at 10 AM. Afterward, Santa & Mrs. Claus will travel to different neighborhoods in Cohasset. Follow the Community Center’s Instagram account for live updates on the elf’s estimated time of arrival. Many thanks go out to the South Shore Community Center for organizing this age-old tradition.
Holidays In The Harbor in Scituate is always an event you really don’t wish to miss out upon. On Friday from 4-7 PM the business along Front Street will stay open late for business and some holiday cheer. Many thanks go out to the Scituate Chamber of Commerce for organizing this festive evening.
The Cohasset Holiday Stroll is an annual festive evening that is not to be missed. South Main Street is closed down while the local stores stay open for your shopping convenience. Many thanks go out to the Cohasset Chamber of Commerce for organizing this festive evening.
All are welcome to join the North Scituate Merchants for a free, family-friendly celebration in North Scituate Village. Elf hunt, tractor sleigh rides, tastings, treats, and more. Oh, and let’s not forget Santa and Mrs. Claus too! It’s going to be a magical night.
Please join us for the 4th Annual CEF Gingerbread Decorating Party on December 12th from 2-5 pm! Each ticket yields one medium-sized gingerbread kit to decorate and one holiday craft. Event attendees can also enjoy live music, a holiday-themed photo booth with on-site printing, a hot cocoa station, holiday characters, and hand/face painting.
Downtown Hingham will be celebrating Christmas in the Square on Friday, December 3rd from 5-8 pm. This Hingham holiday tradition has been enjoyed by thousands of residents and neighbors across the South Shore for over 40 years. We welcome all to join us in this old-fashioned, hometown seasonal celebration.
I hope this list of December Holiday Events 2021 will help you map out your stops for some holiday cheer while supporting your local businesses. Remember to shop local.
